Who is this website for?
The website is for anyone who had anything to do with the Sitmar/P&O 'Fairstar' - a passenger ship that was converted from the troopship "Oxfordshire" in 1963 to a passenger liner. If you were a passenger, crew member, Sitmar/P&O operations staff member, or general shipping enthusiast you may find this website interesting.

Is this a commercial website?
Whilst TssFairstar.com is registered as a "dot com" (commercial) website, it is not operated as a commercial entity. It is maintained by one person who, in his spare time, is the website's webmaster, programmer, author, researcher and all-round Fairstar enthusiast! Please read the
About Me page for more information on the webmaster. TssFairstar.com accepts donations via PayPal and also has financial assistance from sponsors to help maintain and operate the site. Donations are also used to purchase memorabilia including old brochures which are used to update the cruise database.

Do you have paid employment opportunities?
No. TssFairstar.com is a non-profit website and we do not have any paid staff. If you would like to assist with the running of the website on a voluntary basis, please contact us!

How can I contact the webmaster?
There is a link at the bottom of the main page at TssFairstar.com, on each cruise listing and at various other pages throughout the website. Please note that it may take up to several days for us to respond to your inquiry. If you want to send us photographic scans please advise us by email first.

Do you have brochures to mail out?
No. The only brochures I have are from my own personal collection and they are mostly "one-offs"!

Where has all the information come from?
The webmaster is a Fairstar enthusiast and has purchased various books, old Fairstar brochures and other memorabilia over the years. The information on the cruises are predominately from the official brochures and sailing schedules however some people have advised us of some of the itineraries.

Why isn't my cruise isn't listed?
Unfortunately, there are several gaps in the cruise database, mostly from the earlier UK-Australia voyages. Also, some of the cruise itineraries are incomplete or missing. This is because sailing schedules from that era are very hard to obtain or nobody from those cruises has contacted us with the information. I update the database as soon as new information is obtained, providing it is deemed to be accurate.

How do advise of an error in the cruise database?
If you know of a cruise that isn't listed or an error in one of the cruises, please contact us. Also, we're interested in hearing about any changes of ports (due to adverse weather and so on), or any unusual occurrences on any cruise.

How do I change or remove my details from the cruise database?
If you would like to have your details removed or amended from any of the cruises, please contact us.

How can I send my own pictures for the Photos or Memorabilia sections?
At the moment, there are specific photographs of Fairstar that we're looking for. Where we are looking for photographs on a particular theme (such as "Cabins", "Restaurants" etc), there is a link at the bottom of each photo page to submit your own. Please note that they are subject to approval and we reserve the right to crop, airbrush or otherwise modify the photograph or to not use the photo at all. You will always be given a 'photo credit' at the bottom of each successfully submitted photo featured at the website (unless you tell us not to mention your name).
